What is Learner Driver Week?

Learner Driver Week is a celebration of all things learning to drive. Taking place from the 24th – 30th July, we aim to educate, inspire, empower and champion the 7.8 million provisional licence holders in the UK, guiding them on their journey to test success.

From getting your provisional licence, taking lessons, navigating the theory and practical tests to then buying a car and getting it on the road, learning to drive can be a daunting and confusing process. We are here to help!

Learner Driver Week has conducted a survey of over 1,800 learner and young drivers to find out:

  • Do you agree with the current system of learning to drive?
  • Does the government provide enough support to learner drivers?
  • Do the current tests actually prepare people for driving?
  • What are your biggest worries about learning to drive?
  • How can we make learning to drive more affordable and accessible?

We’ll be sharing our survey insight and much more through news stories, quizzes and an epic competition to champion the UK’s unsung heroes – the driving instructors who go above and beyond to teach people both the physical and psychological aspects of learning to drive. You can enter the competition now, so let us know why you think your instructor deserves some recognition. If you win, you as the learner driver will win an Amazon Echo and your instructor will win a track day!

We couldn’t have done this without the support of our partners, some industry peers doing their bit to educate and support both those learning to drive and the UK’s driving instructors – Marmalade Insurance, Marmalade Network, Driving Instructor TV, Driving Test Success and the ADINJC.

Make sure you follow us on Facebook and Twitter for lots of extra content.
