Say hello to the first five of our 24 under 24

Say hello to the first five of our 24 under 24

It’s officially Learner Driver Week! Today we are delighted to be kicking off with a bang by announcing the first five winners of our competition: LDW 24 under 24.

Earlier this month, we launched the competition LDW 24 under 24 to celebrate those young drivers (aged under 24!), who are currently learning or have recently passed.  It was simple to enter, each one shared their experience of learning to drive, as well as a useful tip!

We were inundated with entrants willing to share their unique tales, so we’re very thankful to the fantastic Learner Driver Week partners who helped us whittle down the entries to just 24 inspiring young drivers.

Throughout this week we will be announcing a small handful of winners each and every day so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for faces you may recognise.

Here are our very first five LDW 24 under 24 winners with their stories and a helpful tip.

Saad

Saad

Saad is currently learning to drive so to help out his mum who struggles with conditions that make it difficult for her to drive. He says: “I want to be able to let her relax in the passenger seat while I drive”

Top Tip: “Get your theory test booked as soon as possible, once it’s done you can get focused and prepare for your practical with all the right knowledge in place”

Hannah

Hannah

When Hannah passes her test, she is looking forward to the opportunities that it will open. She says: “It will allow me to gain the customer service, and industry relevant skills that I need to pursue my dream career.”

Top Tip: “Really put the effort into researching instructors! The first one you find may not be right for you. It makes so much difference to your progress if you find an instructor that you get along with.”

Thanks Hannah. There is more information about sourcing the right driving instructor for you in our news section.

Tristan

Tristan

Passing his driving test will mean a whole new world of opportunities for Tristan as he hopes to progress his career. However, learning doesn’t come without its struggles, he says: “I didn’t have enough money to continue with my lessons but luckily I can also practise in my mum’s car.”

Top Tip: “Believe in yourself and you will gain confidence to achieve your dream!”

Jade

Jade

Jade is taking on not one but two big steps as she is currently looking at buying a house and moving out of her family home to live with her partner. She says “Driving would mean I can go home to visit my family whenever I want. I would also like to start looking for a new job and driving would mean I can widen my search.”

Top Tip “Don’t settle for an instructor you don’t gel with”

Shana

Shana

Shana aims to join the police force, where being able to drive is a key skill that can help develop a successful career. She says: “I think driving is a very useful skill and one that I will no doubt need later in life.”

Top Tip: “If you make a mistake, keep a clear head and try to stay calm – getting flustered is only going to make it harder to get the next bits right. Carry on, keep at it, and believe that you can make it.”

Come back tomorrow for more winners :-)
